MARC S. PAOLELLA
Welcome to my page! I am an academic working on applications in probability theory, statistical inference, numeric computation, and financial econometrics. In addition to developing "ivory tower" theoretical constructs, my goal is to produce research directly applicable to society, such as improving the performance and security of people's pension funds, understanding the growing dominance, benefits, and dangers, of machine learning and artificial intelligence in quantitative finance, and developing methods for predicting, and reacting to, global financial crises. More details on my work can be found under my 'Academic' tab.
In addition to my academic and business pursuits, I enjoy (struggling with) learning spoken languages, fitness training, and the study and teaching of self defense and martial arts. See the 'Martial Arts' tab for my (rather amateur, but very fun) attempt at some video material in this regard.
